Arsenal pair Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez could become among the highest earners in the Premier League with the club desperate to keep hold of their services.

  • The Gunners duo combined brilliantly during the final games of the campaign with Arsene Wenger having chosen to shift to a 3-4-2-1 formation.

According to The Telegraph, the duo are in line to receive contracts in excess of £280,000-a-week following a lengthy standout with the Gunners' hierarchy.

Ozil's agent felt that his client had been made the scapegoat during the Gunners' struggles earlier in the campaign, but the German has since fluorished alongside Sanchez in the new setup.

Meanwhile, Sanchez maintained his rich vein of form through the season as he bagged his best tally of 30 goals and 15 assists in 51 outings for the club.

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is understood to receive a package in excess of £300,000-a-week at Old Trafford, and the Gunners pair will be just behind him on the wage list, should they extend their deals beyond 2018.
