Everton boss Ronald Koeman is keen on a reunion with defender Cuco Martina, who is currently out of contract following his release from Southampton.
The 27-year-old is well known for his wonder goal against the Gunners during the 2015/16 season, but he has since played second fiddle to Cedric Soares on the right side of defence.
According to The Sun, Koeman is eager to wrap up a deal for the Curacao international as the club look for sufficient cover in the absence of Seamus Coleman.
Coleman suffered a double leg break back during Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Wales, and this is likely to rule him out for the remainder of the year.
As a result, Koeman has stepped up his interest in his former player as he looks to add more experience for the right-back role, currently owned by a young Mason Holgate.
Martina appeared in 36 outings across all competitions during his two-year stint with the South Coast club.
