After completing the season as caretaker manager, Leicester City are preparing to appoint Craig Shakespeare as their next permanent manager.
Leicester were facing the very real possibility of relegation from the Premier League when Claudio Ranieri was dismissed. Shakespeare, who was previously working as assistant manager, stepped up to take the role on a temporary basis.
Shakespeare\'s side won their first five games in a row, which contributed to winning twenty-three points during the remainder of the season. That saw the Foxes finish safely in 14th place in the Premier League, in addition to an impressive journey to the quarter finals of the Champions League.
The 53-year-old has never worked as a permanent manager, but the BBC understands that Leicester bosses are preparing to give him the chance to progress on the impressive work he did last season.
Leicester fans will be unsure what to expect from their team next season after the shock Premier League success of the 2015/16 season and then the return to reality this season with a fourteenth place finish.
