Diego Costa is willing to spend the first half of next season out on loan if it means that a deal returning him to former club Atletico Madrid is completed this summer.
It was revealed recently that Antonio Conte has told Costa that he is not part of his plans for next season, making his exit from Stamford Bridge look imminent.
AC Milan have been strongly linked with a move for the Spain striker during the last few days, but it is believed that Costa's wage demands, which could exceed £200,000 per week, could put them off the deal.
Diego Costa's former club, Atletico Madrid, have been very keen to re-sign the player that they sold for £32 million in 2014. However, a transfer ban issued by FIFA will prevent the club from registering any new players before January.
The club could therefore still sign Diego Costa this summer but would be unable to play him until the new year.
The Evening Standard reports that Costa would be happy to be loaned out by Atletico for the first half of the season if that is what it takes for him to return to the La Liga club.
It is not sure who Costa would be loaned to just yet, but there is said to still be strong interest coming from the Chinese Super League, which may provide an ideal solution for Atletico Madrid and Diego Costa.
