New Zealand international Chris Wood has revealed his desire to remain at Leeds United despite the ongoing speculation over a move to Huddersfield Town.
The 25-year-old topped the Championship scoring charts with 27 goals last term, but this was not sufficient to propel his club into the play-off places.
A report from The Sun recently suggested that Huddersfield could lure the striker from Elland Road with the promise of Premier League football next season.
However, Wood has stressed his intention to stay with the Championship club, who are now under the control of new manager Thomas Christiansen.
"It was a great season last season, both personally and for the team. We put Leeds back on the map, which was a great thing for the club," he told Sky Sports.
"It's a great appointment of the new manager, an exciting new manager who did well last season. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can offer in pre-season and we go from there."
Wood is currently in Russia with the All Whites as they prepare to take on the hosts in the Confederations Cup opener tomorrow.
Under the absence of Winston Reid, the former Leicester man has been handed the captain's armband as New Zealand eye a probable upset in the showpiece event.
