Man City want buy-back clause in Iheanacho sale

Manchester City are reportedly keen on attaching a buy-back clause to Kelechi Iheanacho's contract, should he pursue a new club in the summer.

  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Nigeria international is currently assessing his future following his reduced playing time in the second half of last season.

Iheanacho managed four goals and three assists in just over 500 minutes of first-team football, but his opportunities were reduced after the arrival of Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus and Sergio Aguero played alongside each other during the final stages of the season, and this gave a clear indication that Iheanacho may have to wait longer for his chance.

According to The Telegraph, the Citizens are willing to sell their frontman for around £25m this summer, only if they have the first priority to buy him back.

Pep Guardiola's side could pay as much as £35m to re-sign Iheanacho in a year's time, and this would present a decent profit for any club.

Leicester City and West Ham United are currently the main admirers for the 20-year-old marksman, while Crystal Palace are also monitoring the developments.
