Newcastle coach Pearson quits

Newcastle coach Nigel Pearson has quit the club having been at the club for just over a year. Pearson, 44, was caretaker manger for the second time in his career at Newcastle after Sam Allardyce left the club.

  • Since Kevin Keegan and Dennis WIse's arrival Pearson has decided to leave the club.



    He first got involved in the club when Glenn Roeder made him the assistant manager in 2006 and became caretaker when Roeder resigned later that year.



    He had previously been the coach at Stoke and West Brom and as a player was a solid defender for Middlesborough defender.
