Sidwell, Pizarro get Chelsea axe

12 February 2008 - 17:17

Steven Sidwell and Claudio Pizarro have both been axed from Chelsea's Champions League squad to accomodate the returning Michael Ballack and January signing Nicolas Anelka.

  • Man Utd star preparing farewell video ahead of transfer
  • Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Atletico Madrid, Lewis-Skelly starts
  • Pizarro has been unimpressive for Chelsea since he joined from Bayern Minich on a free tansfer.

Steven Sidwell has found himself on the sidelines quite often, and rumours of a move to Bolton and Tottenham had surfaced.

New £10 million capture Branislav Ivanovic is the other big name to miss out, which has come as a surprise to many.
