Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is understood to have been involved in a minor car crash after leaving the Blues' Cobham training base on Thursday.

  • According to Sky Sports News, the France international was involved in a minor traffic collision following yesterday's training, but he was unscathed from the accident.

Bakayoko has been a regular in the Blues matchday squad following his move from AS Monaco earlier in the summer, and he has already managed six appearances across all competitions.

The Frenchman is currently in a straight tussle with Cesc Fabregas for a central midfield role but the latter is, for now, the preferred choice to feature alongside N'Golo Kante.

Bakayoko has been capped by France at every youth level, and he earned his maiden cap for Didier Deschamps' side in an international friendly against Spain in March.

Chelsea visit Stoke City in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon, and three points remain a necessity if they to keep tabs with Manchester City and Manchester United at the top of the table.
