Jurgen Klopp would be ready for Bayern Munich - Metzelder

Klopp would fit Bayern's managerial demands - Metzelder

Jurgen Klopp would be ready for Bayern Munich - Metzelder

05 October 2017 - 08:16

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would be the perfect choice to become Bayern Munich's next manager, former Germany defender Christoph Metzelder has claimed.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Mikel Arteta confirms big injury boost for Spurs clash

  • The Bundesliga holders are on the search for a new head coach following the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti, who failed to live to their early expectations for the campaign.

Ancelotti spent just over a year with the German champions, and his sacking came just hours after Bayern were thrashed 3-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week.

Speaking on Sky Germany, Metzelder feels Klopp would be ideal for the Bavarian giants as he is a 'top man-manager', who could get the back out of his players.

He said: "From my point of view, Jurgen Klopp would be ready. He is a top man-manager and could make the complex power relationship work wonderfully."

Klopp won five trophies during a seven-year spell with Borussia Dortmund, but he has since failed to attain any silverware with Liverpool, whom he joined in October 2015.

The Reds lost out in the EFL Cup and Europa League finals during Klopp's first season in charge, and they have since failed to progress beyond than the semi-final stage of any competition (vs Southampton in the 2016/17 EFL Cup).
