Alvaro Morata regrets Chelsea transfer

14 March 2018 - 16:58

Spain international Alvaro Morata reportedly regrets his decision to have joined Chelsea ahead of Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

  • The 25-year-old had initially been tipped to join the Red Devils in the summer, but a sequence of events therein saw him sign up for the Blues, with Jose Mourinho reuniting with Romelu Lukaku instead.

Since then, he has managed a respectable tally of 12 goals across all competitions, but his form since the turn of the year has been a huge concern with no goals in 12 appearances.

His disciplinary record has also been a worry with his evident frustration on the pitch, and he is apparently two yellow cards away from being handed a two-match ban domestically.

Despite this, the Spaniard is prepared to stay put with the Blues beyond the summer, but he is eager to see the departure of manager Antonio Conte during the summer, Don Balon claims.

Conte has been widely tipped to part ways with the Blues prior to the expiry of his contract in 2019 amid his regular complaints regarding the club's transfer policy.
