Lewandowski seems ready to leave the Bundesliga

Bayern Munich target Chelsea striker as Lewandowski replacement

30 March 2018 - 10:42

The expectation that Bayern Munich's star striker, Robert Lewandowski will force a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid at the end of the season continues to grow, which has led the Bundesliga champions to begin their preparations for signing a replacement. Reports today suggest that their attentions are currently focused on the availability of a Chelsea striker.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Alvaro Morata has plenty of European experience, however, he has struggled to establish himself as a key player in the Premier League. Whether his game is not suited to the English league or it is Antonio Conte's tactics that have prevented him from performing to the best of his ability is unknown, but the Spanish centre-forward could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Whilst Bayern Munich continue to insist that they will not be forced to sell their star players, it has been suggested around Europe today that Lewandowski is now preparing to hand in a transfer request to assure that he gets his move to the Spanish capital.

Lewandowski has scored thirty-two goals in all competitions this season and Real Madrid see him as the ideal man to lead their attack next season as they attempt to close the gap on Barcelona.

Alvaro Morata is currently Bayern's first choice replacement for the Polish international, but Paris Saint-Germain's Edison Cavani is also being linked with a move to Bavaria.

PSG will not be keen to let Cavani leave, particularly with rumours suggesting that Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will also be leaving the club at the end of the season.
