AS Roma have reportedly emerged as front-runners to sign Nice striker Mario Balotelli at the end of the season. The Italy international has been in fine form for the Ligue 1 outfit over the past 18 months, contributing 39 goals across all competitions.
Earlier this week, super-agent Mino Raiola suggested that Balotelli would prefer a return to the Premier League after impressing during his time in the French league.
However, according to Leggo, the Giallorossi are currently leading the pursuit of the 27-year-old, who is set to be available on a free transfer during the summer.
Balotelli has been out of the reckoning for international football for over nearly four years, and the return to the Serie A could be aimed at retaining a spot with the Azzurri.
Prior to all that, Balotelli will be aiming to lead Nice to Europa League football with the club separated from fifth-placed Montpellier on only goal difference.
