Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is confident that Sadio Mane will recover from his minor injury prior to Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg against AS Roma.

The Senegal international was left out of the matchday squad for the drab stalemate against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon but Klopp is expecting that the attacker to return for the trip to Rome.

Speaking after the game, he said: "Sadio didn't play, so he will be fine for Wednesday." Liverpool hold a 5-2 advantage heading into the second leg but they will need to avoid any complacency with Roma having previously recovered from a similar deficit against Barcelona in the quarter-final stage.

Meanwhile, the Reds are facing a potential battle to finish in the top four after dropping points for the third time in four league matches. The Merseyside outfit are currently six points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea with an additional game played and they face the Blues in their next league outing.
