Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has reportedly identified Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac as the leading candidate to replace Arsene Wenger as the next Gunners head coach.
The 56-year-old has currently taken a leave from Liverpool for the rest of the season and a recent report from Bosnia has suggested that he is close to succeeding Wenger at the Emirates.
According to Sky Sports News, Buvac is the prime candidate on Mislintat's shortlist to replace Wenger though the Gunners have yet to make any public contact with Jurgen Klopp's deputy.
Buvac has spent 17 years as the number two to Klopp and despite his relative inexperience in the senior role, he has been associated with the Gunners vacancy ahead of the summer.
Aside from Buvac, the likes of Carlo Ancelotti and Luis Enrique have been linked though the latter's wage and transfer demands appear to have put off the club from continuing discussions.
