Matuidi: Signing Ronaldo will be great, but I am focused on the World Cup

04 July 2018 - 15:52

France and Juventus midfielder, Blaise Matuidi has said that it would be great for the Old Lady if they can sign Real Madrid ace, Cristiano Ronaldo.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Reports indicate that Juventus are chasing the former Manchester United star and have offered him a £26m a year contract for the next four years.

Speaking on the possible move ahead of France's game against Uruguay on Friday, Matuidi said: 'It would be great for the club and for the Juventus players. However, today I'm a player of the French national team and we have bigger fish to fry, no?'

It would be unusual if Juventus complete such a big money move for Ronaldo as Italian clubs are not known to give players mega contracts and buy players with huge sums like it is done in England, France, and Spain.

With the recent success in Italy and their exploits in the UEFA Champions League, Juve must have made enough money to splash on world class players. Ronaldo has also been linked with a move to former club Manchester United and French club PSG.
