David Ospina, Carl Jenkinson set for Arsenal exit

Arsenal clear up their squad ahead of new season

David Ospina, Carl Jenkinson set for Arsenal exit

07 July 2018 - 08:57

David Ospina and Carl Jenkinson are both likely to leave Arsenal next week, as newly appointed manager Unai Emery takes the opportunity to assess both players in pre-season training. Jenkinson looks set for a move to Leeds United whilst David Ospina will move to Turkey with Fenerbahce.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Spurs, Gilchrist starts
  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs

  • It is understood that Ospina has already agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce and will move to his new club on July 1st after finishing his pre-season break. The goalkeeper has long been frustrated with playing second fiddle to Petr Cech and the arrival of Bernd Leno at Arsenal seemingly means the end is nigh for the Colombian international.

The story is the same for Carl Jenkinson, who has spent recent seasons out on loan away from the Emirates. Having had multiple offers to leave the club, Jenkinson had originally decided to stay put but now looks likely to move down a division to Leeds United. It is understood that Leeds United will pay around £2 million for the right-back.

Ospina will move for a fee of £7.25 million.
