Former Germany coach praises Pickford after Sweden win

07 July 2018 - 16:28

Former Germany coach, Jurgen Klinsmann has hailed England goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford for his performance in the Three Lions' win over Sweden in the quarter-final of the ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • England defeated the Swedes by two goals to nothing, with the goals coming from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli in the first and second half respectively.

Pickford finished the game as the Man of the Match, making quality saves to keep Janne Andersson's side at bay.

"Jordan Pickford has been outstanding. In the delicate moments he was there. But all the way through the side it was a great performance," he said on BBC One.

England now head into their third World Cup semi-final, and there is a growing belief among English fans and Pundits that this could be their year of victory at the highest stage of world football.

England entered this year's tournament without much expectations from fans, but expectations have gone so high that the Leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn has said that he believes there should be a bank holiday if England wins the World Cup.
