England duo injury doubts for Croatia clash

Henderson, Vardy could miss World Cup semi-final

England duo injury doubts for Croatia clash

09 July 2018 - 10:17

England duo Jordan Henderson and Jamie Vardy are injury doubts ahead of Wednesday's World Cup semi-final versus Croatia.

  • Chelsea make Enzo Fernandez decision for Man Utd game
  • Porto star William Gomes set for Chelsea move?
  • Henderson has featured in nearly every World Cup match for the Three Lions this summer barring the group stage game versus Belgium for which he was rested.

However, his participation in the semi-final against Croatia remains uncertain after sustaining a tight hamstring during the recent last-eight showdown against Sweden.

Aside from Henderson, Vardy also remains a doubt for the crunch encounter after picking up a groin strain which saw him miss the 2-0 win over Sweden last week.

The Three Lions have been aided by the surprise exits of the likes of Spain in their World Cup bracket but they have nevertheless secured progress which remains the most important of all.

England have now reached only their third semi-final in World Cup history and they should fancy their chances of ousting Croatia to face either Belgium or France in the World Cup final this weekend.
