Liverpool midfielder plans Anfield exit

Liverpool midfielder plans Anfield exit

11 July 2018 - 07:24

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is planning to leave the Merseyside club, according to Mirror Football.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • With the arrival of Naby Keita and Fabinho, the Dutchman is reportedly saddened by the fact that he will find playing time limited. According to A Spor, Liverpool have given the former Feyenoord player the go ahead to join Phillip Cocu at Turkish side Fenerbahce.

Liverpool signed Wijnaldum from Newcastle United in the summer of 2016 for a fee reported to be £25m.

Wijnaldum was part of Louis van Gaal's Dutch side that finished 3rd at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He was one of the best players for the Dutch side in that tournament, and looked like he was going to end up as top player in one of the European teams.

It is fair to say that the midfielder has not achieved that and will be looking to put his career on the right track with a move out of Liverpool. Wijnaldum played 33 games for Liverpool last season, bagging a goal and two assists.
