England number one not heading to German club

England number one goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is not heading to German club Bayern Munich, Sky Germany has revealed.

  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • According to reports, the Bundesliga giants were looking to bring the Everton goalkeeper in order to make him the long-term successor of Manuel Neuer who had been battling injuries.

It is understood that Bayern are not interested in signing Pickford whose heroics helped the Three Lions of England reach the semi-final of the World Cup for the first time since 1990.

Pickford has been praised for his World Cup performance by fans and pundits alike.

Pickford is currently been linked away from Everton, but former Toffees' boss David Moyes has said that it will be 'stupid' for him to leave Goodison Park.

The 24-year-old played 38 Premier League games last season, and featured in England's seven games at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia.

If Pickford can improve his performance and stay consistent, it is highly unlikely that any other goalkeeper will be able to displace him at club or national level for many years to come.
