The agent of Paris Saint-Germain's Marquinhos has contacted Manchester United about a possible move for his client, according to Paris United.
Jose Mourinho's side had been linked with a move for the Brazilian in the past but a deal could not be done.
They are currently in the hunt for a central defender as Mourinho continues to look for the right pair at centre-back.
United have been linked with a move for Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci but it is not clear if they will be able to seal a deal. United have also been favoured to sign Chelsea central defender Gary Cahill, who is reportedly considering his future.
As Jose Mourinho continues his quest for a central defender, United have started their pre-season outing, playing a 1-1 draw with Club America in the early hours of Friday morning.
In the central defence area, United are still without Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof and Phil Jones who are on a break after their World Cup exploits in Russia.
