Hodgson rues Fulham defeat

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson was left down hearted after Man Utd came to Craven Cottage and thumped the Cottagers by 3-0. Hodgson felt the result was a little bit unfair on his side.

  • "We know they are a great team, they have great quality and they showed it today.

"But I thought for long, long periods of the game we held our own very well and maybe with a bit more composure ourselves in the final third and a bit more quality we maybe could have scored a goal or two.

"So I'm despondent but not totally saddened by the performance as I thought we did reasonably well actually.

"I'll be interested to see how Manchester United saw the game and saw our performance because they will be more neutral than my subjective opinion.

"It's a blow it as it would have been nice to get something from this game.

"But we've got top be realistic and really focus on the last 10 games, the last third of the season, and hope that we can get points against teams closer to us at the bottom of the table and maybe not be so totally downhearted when we lose to a team like Manchester United."
