Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has revealed that the club could make one more signing before the transfer deadline next week.
The Blues have made two signings in the form of Jorginho and Rob Green this summer but only the former has featured extensively during the club's pre-season.
Amidst this, there has been plenty of transfer speculation surrounding possible recruits and Sarri has now suggested that the Blues may make one signing before the August 9 deadline.
"I talked with the club about the market but only one or maybe two times, no more. I spoke about positions and characteristics but no names," Sarri is quoted as saying by The Mail.
"So I don't know. I think we need something, but maybe only one player. We have very good midfielders, but maybe a midfielder with different characteristics."
Sarri has had to cope without the availability of some of the club's first-team stars including Eden Hazard in pre-season but the team have nevertheless coped well in recent friendlies.
Chelsea are scheduled to play Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday. The Blues previously won the crown against Manchester United on penalties in 2009.
