Manchester Uniteds deal for Mina breaks down

Manchester United's deal for Mina breaks down

05 August 2018 - 14:43

Manchester United's deal to bring Barcelona defender Yerry Mina to Old Trafford has broken down, according to the Sun.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • After agreeing personal terms with the player, a row over his agent's fees has reportedly put the deal in jeopardy.

United had turned to Mina as a cheaper alternative to Leicester City's Harry Maguire whose price tag is £80m.

With this development and the transfer window close to an end, Jose Mourinho is reportedly plotting a deadline day move for Maguire.

In terms of missing out on defenders, United missed out on target Leonardo Bonucci who has returned to Juventus after a season at AC Milan.

Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng has been offered to United, but Jose Mourinho has not shown interest in the former Manchester City man.

With United hoping to sell a defender before they can add another, the next four days will be critical in defining how the Old Trafford side will line up in defence when the Premier League season begins next Friday.
