Alexandre Lacazette reacts to Arsenal exit talk

03 September 2018 - 23:33

France international Alexandre Lacazette has stressed that he is clearly content at Arsenal and he has no plans of leaving the club in the near future.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The 27-year-old had begun the season with three straight substitute appearances and this led to suggestions that he could pursue a surprise exit from the Emirates Stadium.

However, shortly after that, Lacazette managed to start in the Premier League outing at Cardiff City where he bagged the winner and he has now refuted the claims.

"I don't know who said this stuff, but I am at one of the best clubs in London and I am happy at Arsenal. It's always going to be hard to be in the first XI at a club like this, but I always keep fighting and working," he said via Sport360.

Gunners boss Unai Emery had resisted the temptation to start with both Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the first three matches but he eventually went with the pairing against Cardiff.

The move paid dividends with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netting the second goal of the game before Lacazette sealed the Gunners' first away win of the season with a 3-2 scoreline.
