Chelsea hunt Benzema

Chelsea are reportedly eyeing Lyon striker Karim Benzema as the replacement for wantaway Ivorian Didier Drogba, who has paved the way for a move to La Liga in the summer.

Chelsea are putting together a £25 million package to lure the Frenchman to Stamford Bridge, but Lyon will stand firm in their desire to hang on to Benzema.



The Frenchman only just recently signed a new six year contract at the club, but Lyon will struggle to hang on to a player who has already attracted the attentions of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Milan.



Chelsea have earmarked Benzema as the first choice replacement should Drogba leave, and Roman Abramovich will be more than happy to bankroll the move.
