Manchester United are reportedly refusing to sanction the sale of forward Anthony Martial as they would owe part of the profits to former club AS Monaco.
The Frenchman joined the Red Devils from Monaco for an initial £36m in the summer of 2015 but this has since risen to £44m with the attacker having fulfiled a couple of clauses in his contract.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils remain reluctant to sanction the attacker's sale in the near future, considering they would have to part with 50 percent of the profits to his former side.
As a result, the focus is said to be on committing him to a new long-term contract but that too remains uncertain with the Frenchman not featuring regularly under Jose Mourinho this season.
So far, Martial has managed just one league appearance for United which lasted for just an hour but he could feature against Watford this afternoon, given Marcus Rashford is suspended for three domestic games after his red card against Burnley.
