Galatasaray chasing Jairo Riedewald

Galatasaray are planning a January transfer window move for Crystal Palace's unwanted midfielder Jairo Riedewald, with rumours that the Turkish club will pay a reported £5.5 million to sign the Dutchman. It is understood that Turkish side Besiktas are also in the race to side Riedewald, but it is Galatasaray who are in the lead to snap up the player.

  • Riedewald has struggled for first team football since moving to England and had been deemed surplus to requirements by Roy Hodgson this summer during the transfer window.

No team matched Crystal Palace's reported 8 million euro transfer fee and subsequently Riedewald stayed at the club.

However it is now understood that Roy Hodgson is ready to accept a cut price fee to let the player leave the club and that Galatasaray are ready to finalise a deal for the player even before the January transfer window opens.

Riedewald has three seasons remaining on his deal with the Eagles, and is earning a reported £45,000 per week at Selhurst Park.
