Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho could reportedly seek to re-sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a three-month loan from LA Galaxy in the New Year.

  • The Swede was a huge success during his maiden season with United between 2016 and 2017 and he contributed 28 goals in 46 appearances before his season was curtailed by a serious knee injury.

Ibrahimovic thereafter struggled to make a similar impression with United during his second campaign where he managed just one goal from seven matches and his contract was ultimately terminated in March before heading to the MLS with Galaxy.

The 36-year-old has since flourished with 21 goals scored from just 25 appearances and according to ESPN, a surprise United comeback could be on the cards for the veteran.

Mourinho is said to believe that the marksman can still make an impact on the club's frontline and feels he would also act as a key asset in the dressing room where they have been fallouts between the players and manager.
