Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly placed a contract offer on the table for midfielder Christian Eriksen with his current deal expiring in less than two years' time.

  • Eriksen has evolved into one of the club's leading performers over the past few years and his performances have recently caught the eye of European champions Real Madrid.

Amidst this, Spurs appear keen on prolonging his current contract and according to Mundo Deportivo, they have offered him a bumper deal close to the £200,000-a-week package Harry Kane is presently commanding.

Eriksen has been sidelined for nearly three weeks with an abdominal injury but he could make his comeback when Spurs return to Premier League action following the international break.

Spurs have made a good start to the season with 18 points accumulated after the opening eight games and this sees them occupying the fifth position with just goal difference separating them from the final Champions League spot.
