Having scored 9 goals in 7 Serie A games for Genoa, Krysztof Piatek is a top target for many of Europe's major clubs, with Chelsea and Barcelona both rumoured to be interested. However, Napoli chairman Aurelio de Laurentiis has sensationally revealed that the Napoletean club will sign Piatek this summer.
Despite the interest of Chelsea and Barca, Napoli appear to be winning the race to sign Polish striker Piatek and with talk of a 50 million euro transfer offer looming, Genoa will be stretched to reject money of that magnitude
De Laurentiis, in a meeting with the club's supporters, quipped: "It's true that I've spoken about Piatek with Preziosi (Genoa president) and even with the player's agent. We will meet again. I want to sign him!"
Piatek also scored his first international goal recently for Poland, in a game against Portugal. Piatek is fast proving his credentials as one of the best up and coming strikers on the planet and January appears to be an important decision-making moment in the young player's career.
