Manchester City open contract talks with Leroy Sane

20 October 2018 - 19:18

Manchester City have reportedly opened up contract negotiations with Leroy Sane following his impressive form for the Citizens over the past 18 months.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • According to The Telegraph, the Mancunian giants are making efforts to commit him to a new long-term contract despite him still having nearly three years left on his current deal.

Sane did have an indifferent start to the current campaign where he found himself out-of-favour under Pep Guardiola but he has managed to re-establish himself as a regular over the past month.

As such, the Premier League holders are seemingly keen on committing him for the long-term in order to ward off any potential interest from his suitors in the near future.

Aside from Sane, the reigning English champions are also in discussions over a new contract with Raheem Sterling, though they have yet to find any breakthrough in terms of extending his contract beyond the summer of 2020.
