January loan for Schick?

January loan for Schick?

08 November 2018 - 18:58

Roma are considering loaning out Patrik Schick in January for more playing time, according to reports. The Czech striker joined the Giallorossi from Sampdoria in 2017, in a complicated deal which could be worth up to €42m.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Gabriel Magalhaes to sign new Arsenal deal

  • The Blucerchiati are due a further €20m in February 2020, so his current club don't want to see his value depreciate. However, Schick has been entirely left out of 12 games already this season, playing a total of 273 minutes.

According to calciomercato.com, sporting director Monchi is considering loaning the youngster out to get his confidence back, with Bologna, Parma and Udinese all interested. There is also interest from abroad though, with Real Valladolid and Crystal Palace keen on the Czech.

Schick has failed to find the back of the net in those 273 minutes but has netted 7 goals for Czech Republic. He is desperate to replicate the national side form for the Romans. A loan move will help him in the long run, allowing him to regain confidence and have regular playing minutes. At Roma he plays second fiddle to Edin Dzeko, who isn’t showing signs of slowing down. So to displace Dzeko from the starting eleven seems an impossible task for Schick at the moment.
