Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain receive transfer boost after defender snubs new deal

27 November 2018 - 14:12

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly being fancied to make a move for Alex Sandro next summer with the Brazilian having already turned down a contract offer on the table with Juventus.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The left-sided defender has been with the Bianconeri for the past three-and-a-half seasons where he has racked nearly 130 appearances across all competitions for the club.

Despite this, his future remains a doubt with his contract expiring in 18 months' time and Calciomercato suggests the Bianconeri may consider his sale next summer, should the Brazilian continue with the standoff.

Still, the Serie A champions are unlikely to sanction his departure on the cheap and they are expected to demand a minimum sum of around £44m to part ways with the defender.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have generally relied on Marcos Alonso and Juan Bernat respectively on the left side of the backline but both clubs are seeking better competition behind their first-choice recruits.
