Arsenal could be close to sealing the signature of Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega after his agent was spotted in London ahead of the winter transfer window.
The Argentine has been earmarked as the prime target for manager Unai Emery this winter and the Gunners could prise him away for a relative affordable buy-out clause of £18m.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners are making progress towards acquiring the signature of the former Inter Milan and they have already made contact with his representative in the English capital.
Banega has been in sublime form for Sevilla during the ongoing campaign and he has already contributed seven goals and three assists from just 22 appearances in all competitions.
He had captured the attention of Arsenal during the summer transfer window but a move could not materialise with him being hopeful of a contract renewal with the Andalusian side - which has simply not happened.
