Mexican striker Hernandez wanted by Valencia

West Ham reject Valencia loan offer for Javier Hernandez

16 January 2019 - 00:08

West Ham have rejected an approach from Valencia for Mexican striker Javier Hernandez. The forward, who has slipped down the pecking order in recent weeks at the Hammers, is said to be open to a move away from the Premier League in search of regular first-team action.

  • Four goals in fourteen games for Chicharito has not been sufficient for West Ham coach Manuel Pellegrini to select Hernandez instead of the likes of Marko Arnautovic.

However, with Arnautovic rumoured to be on his way to China in a £35 million transfer and with Lucas Perez also said to be on the way out of the club, the Irons are searching for a replacement in the January transfer window for the attacking pair before allowing Javier Hernandez to leave the club.

Valencia are looking to bring in a new striker during the January transfer window and it is understood that they have made a loan bid for Hernandez that has been rejected, before returning with a 15 million euro transfer offer for the striker.

Hernandez has two and a half years remaining on his deal with the Irons.
