Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has clarified that he had no plans of parting ways with the Blues during the recently-concluded transfer window.
The Denmark international managed just the single league start during the first half of the campaign and this led to suggestions that he could push though the exit door at the turn of the year.
However, nothing of that sort happened in the end and Christensen has now clarified that he is ready to fight for his Blues future after neglecting interest from elsewhere last month.
"I just have to show that I'm ready and take the chance when I get it. There was a lot of talk [over a January move] but it was quickly made clear that the club still saw me as someone who would play," he told Bold.dk.
Christensen has continued to struggle for regular gametime since the winter transfer deadline but that could change during the forthcoming months with both David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger being unimpressive at the back of late.
The Blues have grown through a tough run of form since the beginning of the year and they were recently ousted from the FA Cup after a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester United in the fifth round.
