Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has lost faith in Alexis Sanchez

Ole desperate to play either Martial or Lingard against Liverpool

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has 'lost faith' in Alexis Sanchez

23 February 2019 - 23:31

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly hopeful of utilising the services of either Anthony Martial or Jesse Lingard against Liverpool, given he does not fancy the services of Alexis Sanchez.

  • Arsenal looking at Brighton ace to replace 25yo star
  • Erik ten Hag to be sacked by Man Utd after FA Cup final

  • Sanchez has struggled for form since joining United from Arsenal 13 months ago and he has remained a regular on the bench under the interim management of Ole.

According to The Sun, Ole has lost confidence in the abilities of Sanchez and he is optimistic that one of Martial or Lingard can feature against the Reds in the weekend's Premier League clash.

Martial and Lingard were initially expected to be sidelined until early March with groin and hamstring concerns respectively but they have made a swift recovery ahead of the crunch clash against Jurgen Klopp's side.

United need the maximum points against their arch-rivals to maintain the fourth position in the standings. Liverpool, meanwhile, can jump to the top of the table with the minimum of a draw.
