Bayern Munich crashed out of the UEFA Champions league this week, losing 3-1 to Liverpool at Allianz Arena. They have everything to battle it out in Bundesliga as they go toe to toe with Borussia Dortmund in the final stages of the league.
Bayern will now be planning for the future as well. James Rodriguez's two year loan is reaching its culmination. The Colombian has had a mixed experience at Bayern. He has produced some brilliant moments at times and has even failed to hit the standard mark at times. Bayern have a decision to make, whether to keep the Colombian or end his loan deal. If Bayern decide to let go of James, Nabil Fekir of Lyon should be on Bayern's wishlist.
Nabil Fekir has popped up as one of the best playmakers in Europe. He has heavily impressed for the last 2 years at Lyon. His deft touch and brisk Passing has gathered a lot of attention from top clubs in Europe. So much that he almost joined Liverpool last summer.
Nabil Fekir would be an ideal replacement for James Rodriguez. He could be better. Fekir has a price tag of around €55 million. Fekir has scored 12 goals and assisted 7 this season. The statistics alone speak of how heavily he has been involved in the team. Lyon too depend on him for his playmaking and work rate.
James is available at €45 million. James for sure is a cheaper option but Fekir has more to offer in terms of quality. A decision has to be made and if Bayern go out to buy a playmaker, Nabil Fekir has to be on the shopping list.
