Arsenal chase Loic Perrin

Arsenal chase Loic Perrin

20 March 2008 - 15:01

Loic Perrin is the new Arsenal target who will be able to add more depth to the Gunners squad. The St Etienne midfielder is more likely to displace Flamini from the first team.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Arsenal midfield will be under pressure if Mathieu Flamini leaves the club. He is currently stalling an offer of 50,000GBP-per-week for 4 years offered by the club. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Juventus and if so the Gunners would need a replacement for him badly.

It is obvious that Flamini wants a raise in pay as he had played the role of holding midfielder perfectly in the season. The champions league match against AC Milan was one of his best this season. Even then,it seems that Arsenal does not want to break their strict salary policy to keep Flamini, and the Gunners chairman Peter Hill-wood said "e have made him a proposal. We have heard from his representatives but they have not given us a response."

Arsene Wenger is eyeing on signing Perrin, another Frenchman, a strong player in the midfield with proven leadership skills. He has also represented France in the international level playing for the U-19 and U-21 sides.

Giles Grimandi, Arsenal's scout, watched him play in the French League and is clearly impressed by the performance of the 22-year old. He has also reported that Perrin is keen to make a move to the Premier League.

Perrin's contract ends in 2010 and is currently valued at 5M GBP.
