Arsenal head coach Unai Emery will reportedly be handed with a limited transfer budget of around £40m unless the club can qualify for next season's Champions League.

  • Atletico Madrid interested in two Chelsea stars?
  • Chelsea agree £52m deal to sign 20yo English winger

  • The north London side are likely to enter the transfer market for new recruits in the summer, but the club's board may not necessarily back the manager with unlimited funds to do the same.

According to The Mirror, the Gunners hierarchy have already made their decision over their budget for the summer with the emphasis more on reducing the wage bill and offloading unwanted players.

The same outlet suggests that the £40m budget could be enhanced by the club's qualification to Europe's elite competition, although the exact sum has not been specified.

Gunners boss Emery is said to be eyeing a central defender, central midfielder and winger during this summer's transfer window. The likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Mohamed Elneny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be shown the club's exit door.
