Atletico Madrid are reportedly looking into a summer deal for Chelsea's Marcos Alonso as they seek to reinforce their options on the left side of the backline.
The Europa League holders have already sanctioned the sale of Lucas Hernandez to Bayern Munich ahead of the summer while the future of Filipe Luis also remains uncertain.
As such, they seem to be keen on a complete reshuffle of the left-back department and AS reports that Alonso has been earmarked as the prime option to strengthen the position.
Alonso has dropped out-of-favour especially in the European games during the backend of the campaign, but he has nonetheless enjoyed a good league season with two goals and six assists on the board for the Blues.
He has been criticised for the occasional letdown in terms of positioning but a summer departure still seems unlikely to happen unless the club can overcome the two-window transfer ban levied on them by FIFA.
