Chelsea are reportedly able to secure permanent deals for Gonzalo Higuain and Mateo Kovacic despite the fact that they are currently under a two-window transfer ban.

  • The west London giants recently appealed the punishment to FIFA but they were unable to overcome the embargo with the governing body indicating that they can only pursue under age players.

According to The Telegraph, the Blues are currently not permitted to pursue any players above the age of 18, but they can still secure permanent contracts for the likes of Higuain and Kovacic.

Both players have already been registered with the club after making their loan moves from Real Madrid and Juventus respectively and that makes them eligible to join Chelsea on permanent deals this summer.

Kovacic has been in-and-out of the starting lineup over the course of the season but the Blues are likely to speed up a permanent move, considering Ruben Loftus-Cheek is out injured for the long-term.

Higuain, on the other hand, has disappointed after making the switch from Juventus at the turn of the year and the club are said to be pondering over his situation. He has netted just five times across all competitions.
