Manchester United to trigger extension clause in strikers contract

United plan to trigger extension clause in Rashford's deal

Manchester United to trigger extension clause in striker's contract

23 June 2019 - 17:22

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to trigger the 12-month option available in the contract of Marcus Rashford.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The England international has been a regular for the first-team duties since making his debut three years ago, and he has notched 45 goals in 170 appearances.

Despite this, the club have struggle to find the breakthrough with respect to a new contract and The Sun reports that the Red Devils are now ready to activate a clause on his contract.

Rashford's current deal at Old Trafford expires at the end of 2019/2020 campaign and the club are prepared to extend his contract for another year by means of an extension clause present.

The young marksman is currently on a £75,000-a-week contract with the Red Devils and reports indicate that he wants his salary quadrupled to commit his future to the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side remain reluctant to do so at the moment and the extension should offer them with more time to negotiate a fresh deal with the England international.
