Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera has said that there were differences between him and the Manchester United board which saw him decline a new contract with the club.
The 29-year-old spent five seasons with the Red Devils but he decided to move on at the end of last month when his contract expired with the Old Trafford outfit.
Speaking to Marca, Herrera revealed that the club were initially reluctant to meet his demands and that paved the way for him to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
"I don't like looking at the past but there were differences regarding the project and my importance within it. They arrived late and, by then, I'd already made the decision to play in Paris," he told.
Herrera is understood to command a stunning salary of £300,000-a-week with Les Parisiens and he is assured of spending the prime of his career with the club after penning a five-year contract.
