Chelsea have reportedly rebuffed a £20m bid from Crystal Palace for young defender Reece James.

  • London club want to sign Chelsea defender

  • The 19-year-old, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, was impressive for Wigan Athletic on loan last season, where he made 45 league appearances.

James has yet to make his first-team debut for the Blues, but he is still said to be the subject of interest from several Premier League sides including the Eagles.

According to The Star, the Eagles are said to have made a £20m bid for the young right-back, but the Blues have snubbed the advances, given they don't want to lose players under their transfer ban.

In this case, Roy Hodgson's side may have to look elsewhere to strengthen the right-back position, where they have a potential void after the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United.

Chelsea recently picked up their second win of their pre-season tour as they got the better of Barcelona by a 2-1 scoreline. Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi were the scorers for the Blues.
