No option to buy included in Ceballos Arsenal deal

Ceballos: no permanent transfer deal possible

No option to buy included in Ceballos' Arsenal deal

27 July 2019 - 01:33

New Arsenal loan arrival Dani Ceballos asked for the option to buy clause to be excluded from his deal to move to the Gunners from Real Madrid on a season long loan basis. The Spain international, who arrives at the Emirates as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, is hopeful that an impressive season in North London will give him the opportunity to play as a first-team regular at Real Madrid in 2020.

  • The Gunners have signed the midfielder on a 20 million euro loan deal to cover for the departing Aaron Ramsey and the move for Ceballos is considered to be Arsenal's major piece of business in the summer transfer window, with the club's transfer budget slashed.

Ceballos played 23 times in La Liga for Madrid last season, scoring three goals, however that would not be enough to persuade manager Zinedine Zidane to keep the player for this season. The French boss has told Ceballos that he needs to prove himself elsewhere before returning to Madrid.

It will be a huge blow for Arsenal fans that there is no option in the deal to sign Ceballos on a permanent deal, particularly if the player goes on to make an impression at the Emirates.
