Manchester United striker edging closer to Serie A switch?

27 July 2019 - 19:46

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is reportedly edging closer to a Serie A move after meeting up with the representatives of Inter Milan.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The 26-year-old did not participate during the Red Devils' pre-season tour with a minor knock and he has now travelled to Belgium rather than returning with his teammates to the Carrington training base.

According to Sky Sport Italy, the striker and his representative Federico Pastorello have already held discussions with the Nerazzurri, who are aiming to push through a transfer agreement with the Red Devils.

The Nerazzurri have been negotiating in a steady manner over the past few weeks but their pursuit has intensified of late after learning of the interest from league rivals Juventus.

The Serie A holders are seemingly prepared to offer Paulo Dybala in an exchange deal for Lukaku, but the striker appears intent on linking up with manager Antonio Conte at the San Siro.

Lukaku has been valued at around £75m by the Red Devils.
