Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has been linked with a surprise switch to Barcelona at the end of the ongoing campaign.
The 28-year-old has spent the past two years with the Gunners and during this period, he has contributed 38 goals across all competitions for the side.
Owing to his efforts, the north London side are deemed to have kick-started negotiations over a new deal but so far, the striker has given little indication that he would sign an extension.
According to Football.London, the Frenchman is willing to delay the contract decision until next summer to find out whether Barcelona are prepared to make an approach for his services.
Lacazette's close friend and compatriot Antoine Griezmann made the switch to Barcelona earlier this summer but the Blaugrana are still looking for a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez upfront.
Suarez has been a reliable figure leading the line for the Spanish champions but reports suggest that they could be prepared to move on from the 32-year-old by landing a younger replacement with experience.
